MSE Scientific Committee: Professor Dr. Jürgen Rödel

Born in 1958, Jürgen Rödel has been working as a professor at TU Darmstadt, department of materials scince and head of the ceramics group since 1994. His current research topics are electrical fatigue in ferroelectrics lead-free piezoceramics high-temperature piezoceramics sintering and mechanical properties of ceramics.

Prof Dr. Rödel is member of the DGM since 1992. Additionally, Prof. Rödel takes part in the German research community specially in the science administration. Among other things, he worked in the following positions: Coordinator of the "Gradientwerkstoffe" program from 1995 to 2001, Coordinator of the sino-german - program on smart materials from 2001 to 2003, director of the Center of Excellence on“Electrical Fatigue in Functional Matierals” since 2003, and spokesman for the review board in materials science (DFG), as well as. Currently Prof. Rödel is an active member in the acatech network (acatech - the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING -) representing the German materials scientific and engineering communities in 2009, Rödel was honored by the DFG with the Gottfried-Wilhelm Leibniz price.

For the MSE 2018 he is part of the Scientific Committee.
